While central Oregon typically welcomes warm, dry weather in late June, a brief cold front swept through the Cascades overnight, dropping temperatures at Mount Bachelorโs summit to near freezing. According to weather data, the mountain recorded temperatures as low as 31ยฐF on Saturday morning, creating ideal conditions for light snow accumulation at higher elevations.

The snowfall follows the resortโs official winter closing on Memorial Day, May 26. Since then, Mount Bachelor has transitioned to summer preparations, discouraging public access to the slopes as crews ready the area for mountain biking, hiking, and other warm-weather attractions. The resort is scheduled to open for summer operations on June 26, with trail conditions expected to be prime as temperatures rebound next week.
Despite the brief return of winter, the snow is not expected to linger. Forecasts predict a return to warmer weather in the coming days, ensuring that dirt trails will be ready for mountain bikers and hikers by opening day.
